Galina Kolosovskaya received her training in art at the Khabarovsk University in the Russian Far East. Khabarovsk remains today a remarkable center of fine art. Galina participated in numerous shows, in galleries, solo exhibits, and group shows.
When she moved to the Washington area in 2003, she became fascinated by the wonderfully diverse and colorful birds to be found in the Washington area, and has devoted herself to both painting birds in their native habitat, and using feathers to make more abstract images or collages.
She has shown her work in a variety of shows and locales, including:
- The Eastern Market Crafts market (DC)
- The Bethesda Women’s Farm Market
- The Color Gallery (Silver Spring)
- The Rosshdu Gallery (Chevy Chase)
- The Wild Bird Center (Wheaton)
Just recently, she has been invited to participate in two shows at the Rattner Museum in Bethesda
